We are very grateful to our International partners whose support enables us to create inclusive communities for the parents of children with disabilities in Gulu, Uganda.
We acknowledged and appreciated indeed Braille Without Boarders (BWB) for the support of mobility and livelihood training for our beneficiaries where 62 parents of children with disabilities benefited, 40 initiated petty business in local markets, 40 students trained and issued white canes, 44 primary teachers acquired inclusive knowledge on disability issues and adaptation of curriculum to fit needs of all students. Total of 220 children with disabilities registered from Gulu, Amuru and Nwoya districts. 214 parents of children with disabilities attending monthly meeting in five parents’ supportive groups.
We thank Paul Kronenberg & Sabriye Tenberken– founder of kanthari and kanthari institute in India the main supporter of THUMBS UP – UGANDA’S programmes and activities, for the substantial stipend support and commitment to THUMBS UP – UGANDA.
